Lakota Data Center

Due to Lakota's downtown location we are located on multiple power grids enabling us to transfer between them in the event of failure. During that last several weather events, including Hurricane Ike; we never lost power from either grid. The downtown power grids are state of the art and designed by Houston to be reliable and available under the most extreme conditions. In this effort, they have proven themselves to be just that. This is the kind of thing money can't buy but more a product of location. Of course we have UPS protected generator power that will run for 7 days between refueling but we haven't needed to run it, except for testing. Ask the competition how many power grids they are on!

Beyond our power advantages another major advantage to our physical locale is the location of a Tier 1 POP in our facility. Our team actually manages and maintains a Tier 1 POP connected directly to the Internet via Settlement Free Interconnection. A Tier 1 provider choosing such a location for a POP is evidence of the superior infrastructure at our location. What this means to you is that even in the event that we lose power we have a direct control and access to our Tier 1 connection meaning lose of connectivity is not a matter of chance as it is with others. Ask the competition if they even have a Tier 1 connection, in the unlikely chance the answer is yes then ask if the actual POP is in their building.

Combined with our superior power and connectivity is our people. We have a staff of experienced engineers with a long track record of professional and consulting services at major corporations. Our engineers are certified in Cisco, Checkpoint, IronPort, McAfee, Websense, Sniffer, Microsoft and others. Our engineers have over 30 years of combined network field experience ranging from simple router and switch installs, to complex firewall, VPN, and disaster recovery solutions, to security vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. What this means to you is access to knowledge and help when you need it and comfort in solidity of our technical operations. Ask the competition how many CCIEs they have on staff.
